Why You Should Get A Bluetooth Communicator/Camera
This All-in-One solution combines a bluetooth communicator and camera into a single unit.
Unlike a standard camera system which in many cases is hardwired to the bike, a helmet mounted camera offers more recording versatility.
A fixed camera only records in the direction that the bike is facing. The same applies if a rear camera is attached to the bike.
In addition, an all-in-one system allows recording in any direction that the helmet is facing.
With the introduction of LED lighting and powered USB connections, the load on a bike’s battery is a major concern.
This eliminates using an onboard power source. Most Bluetooth cameras allow for viewing recordings via the paired device.
What to Look for When Buying A Bluetooth Communicator/Camera
Everyone has different preferences on what is important or not when deciding on a Bluetooth communicator and camera.
Nonetheless, I want to offer my opinion on the most important things the Bluetooth communicator and camera should have.
Look for communication connectivity
A Bluetooth communicator should offer quality connectivity. Pairing the device to a mobile phone should not be a complex task.
The quality is sound should accent the device once paired. Voice activation is an important feature for hands-free operation.
The communicator should allow for easy expansion to communicate with multiple riders using helmet to helmet or mesh type network.
Look for a high resolution camera
The camera of an all-in-one unit must perform exceptionally well. The video resolution is a major factor when selecting a device.
Consideration should be given to the field of view and the frame rate of the video being recorded. Today’s all-in-one units should offer voiceover recording.
This feature allows for sound to be added to the video when recording. Narrating a ride live offers a more exciting playback.
Finally, it should easy to adjust the vertical angle and rotation of the camera lens to achieve the ideal frame. Features that can be adjusted after the first video.
Look for quality and price
A Bluetooth communicator/camera should possess good craftsmanship at a reasonable price. Waterproof devices offer protection of the device.
Again we refer back the the camera’s capabilities, asa well as, the quality of the components of the communicator.
You will encounter those ride-in-the-rain days, some wetter than others. Water damage could occur with inferior products.
Keep you eye on the prize!
